You probably saw that coming, but, I'll make it official.

There's been a myriad of reasons the site hasn't been consistently updated over the past year and a half - my ongoing physical and mental problems, my darn laziness, the fact that Ellen hasn't been scorching the headlines much between Juno and now - but what it all really comes down to is that I'm really just not a big Ellen Page fan anymore. I still think she's wonderfully talented and seems like a pretty cool person, and she still remains one of my favorite actresses, but for the most part, I'm just not so passionate that I can keep this site running anymore.

The good part is that you're not losing much since this wasn't exactly a great site to begin with. There's many other, far better Ellen Page fansites on the web and among some you can check out are:

I know, I know, I know, I haven't updated the site in months. During this time, I've been battling heavy depression and suicidal thoughts - a problem I had as a teenager some 8-9 years ago. It nearly ended my life then, and because I was worried I might end up killing myself now, I've basically shut down most of my life in order to deal with it.

But it has been getting better, slowly but surely, and I do expect to get back to work soon. And why choose today to make this update, despite the fact that I'm not fully recovered? Because it's the 2nd year anniversary of this site. There's a *sorta* happy thought.

Ellen is among some 30+ celebrities in a month-long online video campaign supporting Burmese Opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi. In her skit, which is set to air on Sunday, Ellen will draw a Hitler mustache on a portrait of Burmese military leader Than Shwe.

For the uninformed (and I wouldn't blame you), Suu Kyi is the National League for Democracy party leader in Burma and won the general election in 1990. She would have assumed the role of Prime Minister, but the military refused to hand over any power, and since then, Suu Kyi has been under house arrest for over 12 years, and has been in detention since 2003. During that time, she has received many awards, including a Nobel Peace Prize.

Ellen's turn at SNL was, for the most part, pretty bad, but it ended with with a sketch that'll be talked about for awhile.

There are two things I make of this sketch, which are two things I've been saying about Ellen all along:

1. She isn't a lesbian. It's a comedy sketch, it's meant to poke fun at rumors, not to confirm someone's sexuality.
2. As suggested by Andy Samberg's line at the end, even if she was, it just shouldn't matter.

Juno hits DVD and Blu-ray April 15th

Juno, which is still in the box office top 10, will be hitting store shelves on April 15th.

There will be two different DVD editions - a single-disc and a two-disc. The two-disc edition will have audio commentary by Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody, four making-of featurettes ("Way Beyond 'Our' Maturity Level: Juno - Leah - Bleeker", "Diablo Cody Is Totally Boss", "Jason Reitman For Shizz" and "Honest To Blog!"), eleven deleted scenes, three outtake reels ("Gag Reel", "Gag Takes", "Cast and Crew Jam") and screen tests.

The Blu-ray version will contain everything the two-disc DVD edition will, plus two TV specials - "Fox Movie Channel Presents: World Premiere - Juno" and "Fox Movie Channel Presents: Casting Session - Juno".

Those of you with HD-DVD players are screwed, but you should have known that two years ago.

Looks like Ellen Page has signed on for another movie - a psychological thriller named "Peacock" which also stars Cillian Murphy. This is like... what... the third movie she's signed on for in the past 30 days?

The title is derived from tiny Peacock, Neb., where Murphy's character, a split personality, fools the town into believing his two alter egos are man and wife. Page plays a struggling young mother who holds the key to his past and sparks a battle between the personalities.

Ellen is among ten actresses gracing the cover of Vanity Fair's annual "Hollywood" issue. She isn't on the "front" cover though, but rather one of the fold-out flaps.

The other actresses sharing the spotlight are Emily Blunt, Amy Adams, Jessica Biel, Anne Hathaway, Alice Braga, Zoe Saldana, Elizabeth Banks, Ginnifer Goodwin and America Ferrera. The theme is "the fresh faces of 2008", which totally explains why Jessica Biel and Anne Hathaway is there.

A behind-the-scenes video is also up on Vanity Fair's website. And here I thought each actress was individually shot and then Photoshopped together.

The Heath Ledger connection

Well, it looks like the media just cannot stop buzzing about the sudden death of Heath Ledger. After all, he is more important than the economy. I can't say much about him as an actor or person, but I've always respected his decision to do Brokeback Mountain, a role which could've easily destroyed a young career filled with potential, given the way people are.

With all this new information coming out, one little bit that relates to Ellen is that she was offered the lead role of what was to be Ledger's directorial debut - an adaptation of the novel "The Queen's Gambit", about an orphan who becomes a chess prodigy. Ledger himself is said to be a chess whiz close to "grandmaster level". I don't know chess lingo, but that's gotta be up there right?

By the way, if you ever find me unconscious, please call 911 and not Mary-Kate Olsen.

Juno picks up four Oscar nominations:
Juno for Best Picture
Ellen Page for Best Actress
Diablo Cody for Best Screenplay (original)
Jason Reitman for Best Director

Ellen's biggest competition would be Marion Cotillard and Julie Christie, both of whom have already won Golden Globes for their performances. Working on Ellen's side is that people have actually seen Juno.

Diablo Cody has the best chance of walking away with an ugly tin statue spray-painted with gold. Juno will probably be beaten by either No Country (the popular vote) or There Will Be Blood (less popular, but perhaps more deserving than No Country?). As for Jason Reitman, I was surprised he was even nominated.

Winners will be announced on February 24th.

Thomas Haden Church predicts Oscar, Ellen not happy about it

And boy, is she POed!

"Last year while we were shooting, I told her that I predicted she'd win an Oscar by the time she's 25," he told reporters at last night's "Smart People" premiere. "And she got really mad at me."

The worst part? She's even better in "Smart People" than she is in "Juno," thanks in large part to the organic chemistry between her and Church.

So why isn't Ellen, who turns 21 next month, at Sundance? Is she still mad about that prediction?

A blank of ten days

Anyways, a rundown on all that's happened in the past week:

Juno cracked into the box office top 10 last weekend at #9, and this weekend at #5, and has now taken in an overall total of over $25 million. Of course, the movie's been advertised a lot more heavily over the past couple of weeks, and had the "benefit" of being tied-in with the whole Jamie Lynn Spears pregnancy shit. I've a million things to say about that, but I'd rather keep it to myself. Best of luck to you, Jamie Lynn.

With the late night shows coming back on, surely Fox would send Ellen out to make the rounds. The only appearance that seems to be confirmed so far is for the Late Show (David Letterman...zzz...) this Thursday, January 3rd. I can only assume that'll be followed by Conan, then Jay Leno and Ellen DeGeneres.

Lastly, I put a start on the gallery. A beta really. It's just something to fill space, don't expect it to be to the level of other fansites, because I'm just not a fansite person.

Juno makes huge debut

Juno hauled in $420,113 over the weekend in just seven theaters, with a per-theater average of $60,016. It's overall total is now $531,000.

That's all really more than I would've thought.

For comparison, Atonement had the second highest PTA with a distant $25,528, and the top film at the box office, The Golden Compass, managed only $7,405.

Interestingly enough, only two theaters in the city were showing Juno, either of which were indie theaters. And here I thought I was going to watch it at Sunshine - which was actually the exact same plan I had with American Crime.

Anyways, highly recommended. Juno's the funniest movie I've seen in awhile, and solid proof Ellen's capable of comedy roles and not just serious ones. "I torture pedophiles! And people torture me!". That kinda stuff.

Juno picked up a Spirit Award nomination for best film of the year, and Ellen picked up a nomination for best actress.

The Spirit Awards are given out annually by Los Angeles-based Film Independent, which supports moviemakers working outside Hollywood's major studios or within the studios' specialty film divisions.

ABC will be airing the "Blackout" episode of ReGenesis tonight (technically, tomorrow morning) at 1:35 AM. Ellen won a Gemini Award (Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Series) for this episode.

IMDB ran a poll today entitled "'Art Snob' offers a list of 10 infamous cinematic crazy ladies; of whom are most afraid?". Among the choices was Ellen Page in Hard Candy.

She has about 1200 votes right now (I suppose it's not tomorrow yet), which is nowhere as much as what Kathy Bates got for Misery (7400).

That Ellen Page, the Nova Scotia cutie who's been getting buzz of the most ingenious kind lately and is on the precipice of even bigger fame, seems to have a crush on fellow, fast-rising Canuck Michael Cera.

Of the Brampton-sprung actor -- her co-star in the fantastic, upcoming Juno-- she says, "he's got my heart," and that "not only is he so friggin' talented, he's one of the sweetest human beings I've ever met."

And, well, not only that, but Cera is "such a good guitar player." That's just the way she put it all recently to Asia's Stars Movie channel.

By the way, did you hear that Ellen was in Beverly Hills the other week to pick up the breakthrough actress award at the 11th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala? Richard Gere. John Travolta. Director Brad Bird. Just some of the fine podium company she was keeping then!

Juno won the Marco Aurelio Award for best film at the RomeFilmFest (I'm sure that's the correct name of the event). The movie was selected from 14 competitors by a 50-member jury made of ordinary movie-goers.

If the numerous television commercials haven't told you yet, the new horror movie 30 Days of Night opens today. What does this movie have to do with Ellen? It stars Ben Foster and Mark Rendall, both actors she has worked with in the past, and both of whom she has been (falsely, likely) linked to romantically. The movie is also directed by David Slade, who previously directed Hard Candy.

The Montreal Gazette (and not Gazetta, thank you dyslexia) posted a new article on Ellen some ten hours ago. Read it here. She goes into her non-acting interests, including free-range chicken and bok choy. Bok choy quite literally means "white vegetable" in Chinese. There's your free lesson for today.

ReGenesis on American TV

It's actually been on for several weeks, but ReGenesis is the latest in what seems to be a hundred Canadian TV shows being syndicated on American television. The show is about a team of scientists dealing with biochemistry, diseases, viruses and things of that nature. It's A LOT better than it sounds.

Ellen guest-stars on several episodes (airing now) as the main character's daughter. Mark Rendall (her good friend, as you might know) is also in the same episodes, and plays (get ready for this) a boy who thinks he's a clone of his brother, who's 2 years older than him, but actually turns out to be his brother's twin.

You can catch ReGenesis on ABC, Mondays at 1:35 AM. Awful timeslot, right?

It certainly took a while longer than I had expected. I had completely forgotten to test-drive the site in IE (why are people still using that?) and had to rewrite a lot of stuff.

A lot of the content is missing - okay, so there wasn't much to begin with, but I'll be updating everything day-by-day.
