At least it wasn't ten years this time around. *mumble* *mumble*
Anyways, a rundown on all that's happened in the past week:
Juno cracked into the box office top 10 last weekend at #9, and this weekend at #5, and has now taken in an overall total of over $25 million. Of course, the movie's been advertised a lot more heavily over the past couple of weeks, and had the "benefit" of being tied-in with the whole Jamie Lynn Spears pregnancy shit. I've a million things to say about that, but I'd rather keep it to myself. Best of luck to you, Jamie Lynn.
With the late night shows coming back on, surely Fox would send Ellen out to make the rounds. The only appearance that seems to be confirmed so far is for the Late Show (David Letterman...zzz...) this Thursday, January 3rd. I can only assume that'll be followed by Conan, then Jay Leno and Ellen DeGeneres.
Lastly, I put a start on the gallery. A beta really. It's just something to fill space, don't expect it to be to the level of other fansites, because I'm just not a fansite person.

Juno picks up Satellite Awards, named to AFI's Top 10
Juno won three Satellite Awards, the movie itself for "Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical", Ellen for "Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical" and Diablo Cody for "Screenplay, Original", or basically the same categories it was nominated in for the Golden Globes. The film was also named to the American Film Institute's list of top ten films of the year.

Ellen on Ellen
During her talk show earlier today, Ellen DeGeneres (who by the way, is like my second favorite Ellen) mentioned that Ellen Page will be on the show in the next few weeks to promote Juno. I might've just hallucinated it though, I haven't slept in like 40 hours. Violet is flawed.
...can't help but feel this is a good time to bring up a certain movie regarding lesbian werewolves.

IMDB's Daily Trivia
I visit IMDB on a daily basis, admittedly, just to see whose birthdays it is. Don't ask. The movie site also has a "Daily Trivia", for which today's was "This starlet has named Patti Smith and Kate Winslet as two of her idols". Oh, you know the answer, don't you?

Juno makes huge debut
Juno hauled in $420,113 over the weekend in just seven theaters, with a per-theater average of $60,016. It's overall total is now $531,000.
That's all really more than I would've thought.
For comparison, Atonement had the second highest PTA with a distant $25,528, and the top film at the box office, The Golden Compass, managed only $7,405.

So I saw Juno
Interestingly enough, only two theaters in the city were showing Juno, either of which were indie theaters. And here I thought I was going to watch it at Sunshine - which was actually the exact same plan I had with American Crime.
Anyways, highly recommended. Juno's the funniest movie I've seen in awhile, and solid proof Ellen's capable of comedy roles and not just serious ones. "I torture pedophiles! And people torture me!". That kinda stuff.

What's a Juno?
I mean, it's an unusual name, isn't it? So what is a Juno? Among other things...
- The queen of the gods in Roman mythology, and notably, a fertility goddess.
- The male lead from the movie "Jenny, Juno", which also happens to be about teen pregnancy.
- An ISP that has been around since the dawn of time. Just kidding.
- An award Ellen won't be winning anytime soon - the Juno Award is a Canadian music award, equivalent to the US' Grammy Award.
- A beach in Normandy, which was used as a landing site during World War II.
- The name of seven different British warships. They're obsessive like that.
- My favorite weapon in Einhander. Unless I'm using Selene. Then it's Flash cannon all the way!
